Mountain Ridge Church asks

Do you believe that the Glory of God is inside you?

************************

If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the glory of God is inside you.
Okay. Let's turn to scripture.

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

NAB 1 Corinthians 3:16

There it is.
After seeing it in scripture, do you believe it?
Will this change how you live this week?

Okay, here is another verse.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

NIV 2 Corinthians 5:21

There it is.
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the glory of God is inside you - the righteousness of God.

Today, I want you to believe scripture.
To fully understand this and to understand how big of a deal this is, I want to walk you through the story of God.

This epic story that took thousands of years to unfold.
The only thing that separated the room called the Holy of Holies from the rest of the Temple, was a curtain.

Historians say the curtain was at least four inches thick making it extremely heavy.
Tradition tells us, it would have taken three hundred priests to move that curtain.

This is important because when Jesus died, something amazing happened.
At the he very moment Jesus died, that four-inch curtain ripped from top to bottom.
That was a miracle.

No one could have made that happen. Do you know what that means?

Because of what Jesus did, the glory of God is no longer separated from us.
It is no longer contained in one room.
The glory of God was released to live inside us.

When the day of Pentecost came, all the believers were gathered together in one place. Suddenly there was a noise from the sky which sounded like a strong wind blowing, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

GNT Acts 2:1-2

First, if you were raised in Church, you may have been taught information about the stories and rules, but you may not have been taught about the glory of God being in you.

Second, you may not have been raised where praying and worship and anointing was normal.
Listen, we live in a world that is brutal.
Why is life so hard?
Because this world is evil, and it will violently come against you.
It will leave you feeling dazed and confused.
It leads you to believe, 'the glory of God isn't in me.'

And we end up living lives of desperation.
Even when I tell you that the glory of God is inside you, you might struggle to believe it.

How do we see how much we matter?
How do we believe that the glory of God lives inside us?

To give you an analogy, I have an ice pack in my hand.
This ice pack is great to have if someone gets injured - right?
However, the truth is, it's useless if I never use it.
It will just take up space.
It will just collect dust.

To access and activate the Holy Spirit, we have to break the liquid pack on the inside of us.
That means we spend time reading scripture, praying, and surrendering our lives to Jesus.

Then and only then is the Holy Spirit activated.
The reason you might struggle to believe it is because you are probably like me.
We look at our lives and we know; we don't deserve the glory of God.

If you have received Jesus and your Lord and Saviour, God placed His glory inside you.
It's a gift.

And all you need to do to access or activate the Holy Spirit in you, is to believe the truth, read scripture, pray, and surrender your life to Jesus.

Mountain Ridge Church
We are ordinary people, living ordinary lives.
For each of us, life has been messy. For many of us, life has given us some unfair and unexpected blows.
If you are looking for perfection, we will disappoint you.
But here is what we can do; we can help lead you to God.
We can create a Sunday service for you to be impacted.
We can give you practical handles on how to get close to God and walk in healing.
We can create places where you can engage your culture and through it all, who knows, you might be a great friend to those around you.
